Hosting
What else
will I need for Around Houston to host my website in
addition to registering my domain name?
Once your website is designed, you'll
need a place to store it. This is called a virtual server
or virtual host account. This is another service provided
by Around Houston.

What exactly
is a Virtual Server?
When someone enters your web address
(URL) in their web browser, it goes directly to your
website on one of the Around
Houston Hosting computers called a server. Your Around
Houston Hosting host computer then sends the files
that make up your website to the person's computer that
requested it. In other words, it's your virtual server
or host that makes your website available to the world.

What
contract and payment terms are available?
The initial hosting charge is due prior
to uploading your website to our server, as all virtual
hosting accounts must be prepaid in full.
After the required initial payment, Around
Houston will automatically bill you at the end
of each month, quarter, or year, depending on the server
plan you select. For more information on our monthly,
quarterly or annual virtual hosting billing plans, simply
refer back to the section detailing our Hosting Plans.
Around Houston will
bill you via e-mail. We accept business or personal
checks or you may choose to arrange automatic billing
to your Master Card, Visa, or American Express.
Monthly and Quarterly Hosting Plans require automatic
billing to your credit card on file.
There is no minimum contract required beyond the initial
hosting plan payment.

within 24 hours, and most times will be completed the
same day. Once an account is set up, an activation notice
will be sent you via E-mail including a user ID, password,
and FTP hostname. You can begin uploading files to your
new web site immediately. Domain account users will
be given a temporary URL to access their site via the
web prior to the completion of either domain registration
or transfer.
