Your pop-e-mail account lets you send and receive e-mail
directly from the Around Houston Hosting server.
In order to send and receive these e-mails, you must
first set up whichever e-mail program you are currently
using.
For example your e-mail address is: info@yourdomain.com
Specific directions to set up Outlook or Outlook Express
are as follows:
Open Outlook Express
Click Tools and select Accounts from the pull-down
menu
A window called Internet Accounts will open
Click Add and select Mail
Display name: Type in Your
Company Name
Whatever you enter here will appear as the sender on
your outgoing e-mail.
Click next.
Type in the e-mail address that appears on your web-site.
info@yourdomain.com
Click next.
Next you must type in your mail server names as follows:
For incoming mail, type in: mail.yourdomain.com
For outgoing mail, type in: mail.yourdomain.com
Click next
A window called Internet Mail Logon will appear.
For account name, enter info@yourdomain.com
For password, simpy enter your password.
Click next.
Click finish.
Click close.
Close Outlook Express from the top right close box.
Open Outlook Express again and click Tools and select
Accounts.
Highlight mail.yourdomain.com and click Properties
A new window called Properties will open.
Type in your reply address: info@yourdomain.com
Click Servers from the top menu choices.
Under Outgoing Mail Server check: My server requires
authentication.
Next click on Connection from the top menu
Check: Always connect to this account using:
Then select from the drop-down menu the type of connection
you have.
If you are on a local area network, select local area
network.
If you are using a dial-up account (for example aol,
etc.) simply select your ISP name.
Click apply.
Click OK.
Click close.
And you're ready to e-mail!
